Home. Where the heart is.

Welcome to your Maternity Circle…a circle of support as your family grows!

This is the website of Jeanette Mesite Frem, MHS, CCE, BC, CD(ALACE), a childbirth educator, birth doula, and breastfeeding counselor serving families in Eastern and Central Massachusetts .  I’d like to help you during your exciting journey through pregnancy, birth, and the development of a relationship with your baby.  This time in your life is amazing, as you know.  Each pregnancy, birth and early parenting experience is unique and each family’s needs are different.  I strive to provide education and support to mothers and their partners so they can make their own informed choices for themselves and their babies.  Think of me as a friendly resource person who will help you get the information and support you  need to have a healthy and happy pregnancy, a positive birth experience,  and a smooth transition to parenthood.  I feel absolutely honored to be part of a new baby’s life.  I am passionate about what I do and constantly energized by being allowed to contribute my skills to help in any way I can.

The act of opening yourself up so that another being can pass down the channel and out of you takes a woman all the way down to the very deep of living.  ~Judy Grahn

“Only recently in the long story of humanity has the linkage of knowledge and reassurance between generations of birthing women been broken.  Pregnant women today often find themselves without ties to female relatives who can reliably teach them what to expect from childbearing.  Birth has often come to resemble a mechanized, medical emergency.  It is no wonder that many first-time mothers’ images of birth are filled with fear and pain.  Knowledgeable childbirth educators and labor assistants/birth doulas can do a great deal to provide pregnant women with information and practical alternatives so that they may give birth with confidence, strength and joy. Laboring women who feel confident and support and supported are much more likely to achieve satisfying outcomes than are women without such support.” ~Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators www.alace.org
